During the past couple of weeks, I have been surveying Godzilla websites
across the web, and I've come to one simple conclusion.
There are two types of Godzilla sites on the web.
1. There are the sites that express much love for Godzilla, and immortalize
him on the internet. They are there for the pure enjoyment of
younger and older G-fans.
2.Then there are the sites that are there for the pure competition of
other Godzilla sites. They are there because the Godzilla fans who made
them are trying to show that theirs is better than everyone else's.
Over the period of my survey, I have come across countless sites that are there just for the purpose of trying to outflank others on the Godzilla top 25 sites website. I've even been told that some click their banners numerous times just to get it higher on the list! That is the lamest thing I've ever heard of! If you are one of the Godzilla site owners who do that... I hope your disgusted with yourself, because you should be. That is about the most shameful thing I can think of concerning a Godzilla site, besides stealing others idea's.
To the people who are truly original with their sites, thank you so very much for making the Godzilla universe much more fun for us other G-site owners. Just to name off a few site's I've recognized as original in their content:
-Rc2000's
-G-Fiction 2002
-Godzilla Worship
-Godzilla Tower
-MZNews
-Hybrids Haven
-G-Fan 2002's site
-Rodans Roost
I have to give props where they are due, and for the top 3 sites I named... congats to you guys. You've kept Godzilla fresh and interesting for me. Your sites have fueled me to continue... even when I've hit dead spots.
I ofcoarse will not name the sites which I think are rip-offs, or wannabe's... but you owners know who you are.
I truly hope my site is informative and fun for you all.
I try to keep up with todays G-News and make fun things for you to do.
This hopefully has opened some eyes to the world of Godzilla sites as the way I see them. No Godzilla site is bad... but you need love to make it last.
I leave you with one question... if you are a Godzilla site owner...
What kind of site do you own?
Do you own a site that immortalizes Godzilla in the internet forever?
Or do you own a site that uses Godzilla for the purpose of filling up pages
just to compete with the other Godzilla site owners?
The way I see it, we're all in this together... each and every G-fan. Our sites
should keep interest in the Big G alive in a time where G-fans can meet and talk about him at any given time. Why compete, when we can work together on these things?
