Destroy All Monsters

In 1999, an island is created to harbor all the monsters of the earth. They are all contained using modern technology. All is going well until the base of operations on 'Monster Island' is disrupted by poison gas and all the monsters are realesed on major cities. They are controlled by aliens called Kilaaks. Rodan invades Moscow, Gorosaurus invades Paris, Godzilla and Manda invade New York, and Mothra attacks Beijing. Soon though... they all gang up on Tokyo. The UN discovers away to take the monsters back under control and they send Godzilla, Minya, Anguirus, Rodan, Gorosaurus, Mothra, Kumonga, Manda, Varan, and Baragon towards the Kilaaks. King Ghidorah arrives to wreak havoc and is met with said monsters. A huge battle ensues and King Ghidorah get's the crap beat out of him... and is finished off with an atomic smoke ring by minya and his middle head getting stomped in two by Godzilla. A new monster appears... a burning monster. It flies to Monster Island and destroys the control aparatus. The monsters have their god given free will back, yet they still know to destroy the Kilaak base harbored in Mt. Fuji. Godzilla ends up kicking it in, collapsing it on the Kilaaks. The fiery monsters turns out to be no more than a UFO controlled by the Kilaaks. It is shot down, and the monsters return to Monster Island.

An excellent film. Ok... so part of the movie is all human activity and pretty much boring at that... it is all made up for with monster fight scenes. This movie marks Anguirus's return, and a mighty one it is. It also the movie which contains the most monsters in it (excluding stock footage of coarse). I think this movie should get a neo treatment... imagine seeing like Biollante, Godzilla, Mothra, Battra, Anguirus, Junior, MechaGodzilla, Fire Rodan and the Super XIII ganging up on SpaceGodzilla and King Ghidorah and Destroyah. That would be rad.
